George Montagu, 4th Duke of Manchester Held the office of Lord Chamberlain between 1782 and 1783.1 He held the office of Ambassador to France between April 1783 and December 1783.1

     George Montagu, 4th Duke of Manchester was born on 6 April 1737.3 He was the son of Robert Montagu, 3rd Duke of Manchester and Harriet Dunch.1 He married Elizabeth Dashwood, daughter of Sir James Dashwood, 2nd Bt. and Elizabeth Spencer, on 23 October 1762 at St. Georges Hanover Square, Westminster, London, England.3 He died on 2 September 1788 at age 51.1
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Huntingdonshire between 1761 and 1762.1 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Huntingdonshire between 1762 and 1788.1 He succeeded to the title of 7th Baron Kimbolton of Kimbolton, co. Huntingdon [E., 1620] on 10 May 1762.1 He succeeded to the title of 4th Duke of Manchester [E., 1719] on 10 May 1762.1 He succeeded to the title of 7th Earl of Manchester, co. Lancaster [E., 1626] on 10 May 1762.1 He succeeded to the title of 7th Viscount Mandeville [E., 1620] on 10 May 1762.1 He was Master of the Horse in 1780.1 He was invested as a Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1782.1 He held the office of Lord Chamberlain between 1782 and 1783.1 He held the office of Ambassador to France between April 1783 and December 1783.
