Notes for ALFRED WORSLEY MONTAGU:

Divorce of Alfred Worsley:

Montague and Agnes Grace Edwards. Alfred is very much the wronged

person is this exercise. He was an actor and so was she so it was very

much an "office" romance and they married. Later Agnes went home to New

Zealand for two or three months to her parents and it seems that she

might have "cooled" off on the romance in that time. She went to Broken

Hill in New South Wales for work while Alfred stayed in melbourne and

she met up with Hugh McPhee who was running some sort of an

entertainment company. Hugh probably had better prospects than a

part-time actor like Alfred and they struck up a relationship. When

they came back to Melbourne and Alfred saw what was going on he filed

for divorce. There was no child to this marriage so that still leaves a

problem for you.
